Chris Herreen, led us on a Mystery Ride and 9 riders turned up, the weather was perfect for motorbikes. It turned out that the Mystery part of the ride was a stop at Hahndorf to play Mini Golf. We parked close to the golf links, very close to Otto’s Bakery, paid our $8- fees and started our round, at the beginning some tried to keep score but the scores were so depressing that almost all gave up and had fun. Every player was subjected to a considerable amount of useless advice, unhelpful suggestions and heckling from the watchers and many of us gave up on one or two of the holes. The whole event took about 40 minutes and when we finished we repaired to Otto’s Bakery to recovery and refreshments.

Ray Hill, agreed to lead after Otto’s and a brisk ride was requested. We rode through Littlehampton, Nairne, Brukunga, Birdwood and via back roads ended at Kersbrook Hotel. Ray managed to keep within the speed limits….. most of the time. Non of us felt inclined to have a sit down lunch so we spent half an hour in the carpark chatting and then went home. Your Club Captain, enjoyed the day very much. Any feed back from the others who rode with us would be much appreciated. Did you enjoy it and should we occasionally indulge in “Mystery Rides”?
Thanks to Chris and Ray for a very enjoyable ride!
Next Ride: Sunday 3rd May, Destination yet to be decided.
Allan Vaisham, Club Captain.

Warren’s funeral will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 8th April at Kleemans Lobethal Chapel, 53 Woodside Rd, Lobethal, SA.
We couldn’t have picked a better day for the reorganised Summer BBQ, which was rescheduled due to hot weather. Thanks to Alan Kernich, Bob Cole (chef) and Evangeline (apple pie & cream) and all who attended and helped out on the day. We all agreed that this time of year is the perfect time for future club BBQs.

It was with great sadness to learn that club stalwart and all round great guy Barry Young passed away this morning. Barry, a life member, joined the club in 2006. He served as Vice-President 2019-20 and 2022-23, Social Secretary 2007-12 and 2014-20, more recently Barry was one of our Assistant Registrars serving in that role for at least the past 5 years. He was also voted the Club Member of the Year in 2016.
Barry used to enjoy restoring bikes – the most recent being an Excelsior Autobyk. I also remember a Triumph Tiger Cub and a BSA Bantam, which he showed at Classics At Hart recently, as well as a 650cc Triumph.

To say that Barry will be missed is a huge under statement. Barry was always keen to help out whenever he was needed. He made the motorcycle themed table decorations for our club dinners and possessed more than handy carpentry skills knocking up various props for our bike shows at Harts Mill.
Our sincere condolences go to his wife Irene and family.
There is a memorial service at 10:30am Thursday 31st July at Partridge House, Partridge St, Glenelg.
