Midweek Ride 6th December 2023

18 Dec

Another lovely warm but overcast Wednesday, saw 14 bikes gather for the first December midweek ride. I was elected leader and selected Williamstown as our first stop, we stopped briefly at the top of the hill to gather our riders and then proceeded on Greenhill Rd through Uraidla, a left turn at Deviation Rd, Right onto Lobethal Rd, left onto Staffords Rd and Millar Rd, to emerge in the middle of Lobethal. A left hand turn and left again onto the Cudlee Creek Rd, past the Cafe on Gorge Rd, past Chain of Ponds and Kersbrook to Williamstown, where we stopped at the Bakery Cafe at the corner of Victoria St.

Various destinations were discussed while having Coffee, but in the end it was left to the leader, who selected Angaston for the lunch break.

Springton Rd, is always enjoyable, a left turn at Springton and we proceeded to Eden Valley and then Right by the Lutheran Church and we headed for Keynton. In Keynton we should have turned left for Angaston, but the leader, in a perfectly normal state of confusion, lead the bikes right which gave us a very enjoyable ride down the Keynton Hills, giving us splendid views and a fun twisty road, but it ended in Sedan! The Sedan pub serves excellent meals, but only Thursday to Sunday, so we had a drink at the pub and set out for Mount Pleasant on Ridley Rd, passing through Cambrai and a right turn onto Angas Valley Rd, up the hill to Mount Pleasant and a late lunch and then various roads home. Despite the confusion it was an enjoyable ride.

The next ride is Tuesday 19th December, hope to see you then.
