Festival of Motorcycling 2020

What is the Festival of Motorcycling 2020?

The Festival of Motorcycling is a joint effort, with several of Adelaide’s motorcycle clubs, to showcase all aspects of motorcycling and the two wheeled experience, with each other and the general public. The idea is to incorporate rally activities of participating clubs over the course of a week. Individual clubs will stage a rally that will be promoted through a central organising committee.

The event will be in joint cooperation with local motorcycle clubs, whose logos appear at the top and the bottom of this page.

When will the Festival be held?

The Festival is be held in 2020 between the dates October 4th – 11th in and around Adelaide, South Australia.

Program of Events

Saturday 3rd Oct – Meet and Greet at the Semaphore Carousel, Esplanade, Semaphore starting at 7:30pm. Food and drinks will be available. Guest speaker – A. N. Other.

Sunday 4th Oct – Grand Swap Meet at the Balhannah Oval, Balhannah, in the Adelaide Hills, organised by the Vintage & Veteran MCC SA. Starts at about 7am and ends around midday. There will be a ride to the oval organised by the BSA Owners Club starting at Beaumont Rd, Adelaide, off Greenhill Rd – meet at 8:30am. Click here for details.

Monday 5th Oct – For vintage, veteran, small bikes and scooters to be held at Mannum, next to the magnificent River Murray 80 kms from Adelaide, depending which route you take. Organised by the Vintage & Veteran MCC SA. All bikes welcome and a backup trailer will be on hand. Two rides scheduled :

  • A short run of 80 kms
  • A longer run of 100 kms

Meet at the car park next to the Mannum Ferry at 9:00am, where there will also be a display of vintage & veteran bikes. Refreshments will be available.

Tuesday 6th Oct – Norton Motorcycle Club of SA ride in the Adelaide Hills. Meet 9:30 for a 10am start at Hawthorn Crescent, Hazelwood Park. Stop at the Amberlight Cafe, Lobethal, a regular motorcyclist’s mecca in the Hills, then onto Birdwood and a visit to the National Motor Museum. This ride is NOT restricted to just Norton bikes, ALL makes and years of bikes are welcome. Click here for details.

Wednesday 7th Oct – Classic Owners MCC SA ride to the Barossa Valley. Ride through the scenic vineyards of the Barossa Valley. Meet at 8:30 for a 9am start at The Tea Tree Gully Hotel car park near the corner of Haines Rd & North East Rd. Lunch at Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley. ALL makes and years of bikes are welcome. Thursday 8th Oct – BSA Owners Club of SA organised rides in the Southern Vales. Meet at 9:00 for a 9:15am start at the Holdfast Model Aero Club, cnr Majors Rd & Lonsdale Hwy, Trott Park.  Morning tea available at the Inman Valley Hall and lunch at the Goolwa RSL/Lions. A small bike run will be run simultaneously intersecting with the main ride. ALL makes and years of bikes welcome. Click here for details.

Friday 9th Oct – Ducati Owners Club SA Track Day at Mallala Motorsport Park, Aerodrome Rd, Mallala approx 55 kms from Adelaide. Come and ride your bike at the track (competitor fee applicable) or just come along and watch the action for FREE. Refreshments will be available for competitors.
