10 am, Tony Mitchell, lead 13 riders out of Hawthorn Crescent, turning right at the roundabout and over Mt Osmond and the old Devil’s Elbow road to Crafers, where the Club Captain took over and led the riders through Sterling, Aldgate, Mylor, Echunga and Mt Barker, to Wistow for our morning stop.
As we were leaving Wistow the Norton Riders Club turned up creating a sea of motorcycles in the car park. After a quick chat to some of the Norton riders, we set out for our lunch stop at Langhorne Creek, via Woodchester, Strathabyn, Finniss, Clayton and Milang thence via Lake Planes Rd, to the General Store at Langhorne Creek. We had all dismounted before it was discovered that the cafe was not open, so after a short stretch and massage of our rears, we remounted and rode to Strathalbyn and the Corner Bakery.
After a pleasant lunch the ride broke up and we set out for home by the most convenient roads.
It was very pleasant ride the weather was favourable thought there was a good wind blowing particularly along the lake from Clayton and Milang
